.....AND BABIES MAKE FOUR! Congratulations to Melanie (SIO Graduate
Department) and Lance Al-Rawi! Their twin sons arrived on October 4:
Kyle Joseph Al-Rawi born at 5:40 a.m. - 5 lbs. 7 oz, 18.5" and Jordan
Jack
Al-Rawi born at 5:41 a.m. - 5 lbs. 9 oz, 17.5". Both babies are doing
just fine! Little Mama is very tired but otherwise is feeling and doing

TRICK OR TREAT! - All buoys and ghouls and their parents are invited
to the
second annual Halloween Party for SIO Kids, on Tuesday, October 31. Creep
on down to the grassy area beside the Snack Bar at 4 p.m. and enjoy goblin

CHANCELLOR'S CHALLENGE '00 - Everyone is invited to join Chancellor
Bob
Dynes for his 5th annual 5K Run/Walk on the new cross campus course,
Friday, October 27 at 12:15 p.m. Students/$5 & staff/faculty/alumni/$10.
All mailed entries must be received by October 25. Chancellor Dynes will
personally donate $25 to the UCSD Undergraduate Scholarship Fund for every
runner finishing ahead of him. Prof. Frances Dynes Hellman will donate
an
additional $25 for every female runner who finishes ahead of her! Entry
forms are located in 104 Scripps Building Building or register online
at
active.com.
