Wednesday, June 28, 2006 UC San Diego to Host Forum on Green Building Practices in Conjunction with Sustainable Facilities Summit Scripps Institution of Oceanography / University of California, San Diego University of California, San Diego's Environment & Sustainability Initiative will host a forum to discuss the latest research on green building practices in conjunction with the 2006 Sustainable Facilities Summit on Aug. 13-15 in La Jolla, CA. The Summit attendees who have been invited to the Aug. 15 UCSD forum include real estate and facilities decision makers from a wide variety of public and private sectors entities, including healthcare, government, education, and retail, commercial and industrial sectors.The participants of the post-Summit forum will convene with UC San Diego scientists and researchers who are working on issues related to new eco-friendly technologies and practices. UCSD Jacobs School of Engineering Professor Paul Linden and Professors William Hodgkiss and Dan Cayan at UCSD's Scripps Institution of Oceanography, will present research under way in such areas as: green building design; climate, energy and water; and wireless environmental sensor networks.
