These unique monthly concerts - co-hosted by 102.1 FM KPRi - are held from 6-9 p.m. for music lovers ages 21 and older. Proceeds support exhibits and educational programming at Birch Aquarium at Scripps.

The concert series, which kicks off May 18, combines live music with panoramic ocean views on the aquarium's stunning outdoor tide-pool plaza. Savory happy-hour appetizers, craft beers and wines are available for purchase. Keep an eye out for a real "green flash," a rare optical phenomenon caused by refraction of light as the sun sets on the horizon.

All concerts are standing-room only. Discounts for season passes and Birch Aquarium members are available. Admission includes the concert, entrance to all aquarium exhibits and parking.

So how did Indie pop phenom FATT make it from living room to main stage within a year? Six killer musicians, five dapper suits, irresistible songs and a dash of serendipity. This is the Green Flash debut for these soul-clapping, get-down-on-the-floor, moneymaker shakers.

Wednesday, August 17

We just can't seem to get enough of this guy. Playful singer-songwriter and San Diego legend Steve Poltz returns for a clever, creative and fun-filled evening. Always quirky and unpredictable.
